I went to Best Buy today to pick up Farscape: The Complete Series-I had a few gift cards from the holidays and surprisingly, Best Buy had it for the cheapest price I could find. (cheaper than Amazon, which is a surprise and a half). So, I ordered it, and chose store pickup. If you don’t already know, store pickup is when you order something, and instead of paying shipping and handling, they either send it to a location near you, or they reserve it at a location near you so you can pick it up. I thought this delivery method would be a great idea, and I went to the store to pick it up- of course there was an insanely long line. Granted, this was right after the holidays, so I expected the lines to be long, but I thought that there would at least be some sort of auxiliary line for store pickup- there wasn’t. Even though their policies are insanely stupid, I could accept the fact that I would have to wait in the line for 3 years to get my package, after all the “present holidays” has just ended.

So I decided to get out of the line and go to the computer section to pick up an extra laptop charger, which was reason #2 I had to go to Best Buy. Right before I had left my house, I checked a few sites online to see how much the charger would cost; I figured it would be around 20-25 dollars. The only employee I could find was a high school kid who took me to the completely wrong section, and then managed to point me in the direction of the wrong set of chargers. Once I found what I was looking for, I checked out the price tag and guess how much it cost? 109 f*cking dollars. 109 dollars. Are you kidding me? As I left screaming “THIS IS WHY I SHOP ON AMAZON.COM,” I was fuming, and then and there I promised myself I would never shop at Best Buy again.

I went home, powered up what was left of my L-top battery and headed over to Amazon.com. I ended up purchasing a charger and a new battery for my laptop for 60 dollars. So just to recap here- I was able to purchase a laptop battery and a laptop charger for almost half the cost of a charger at Best Buy. I even overnighted them and it still cost less.

This is just one anecdotal tale of why Best Buy really sucks, but there are plenty of other reasons why I will never ever shop at Best Buy ever again:

1) They are constantly understaffed, and I can never find anyone to assist me.

2) They don’t know what they have in stock and what they don’t have in stock.

3) The small amount of stuff they actually do have in stock is insanely overpriced.

4) There are always long lines wrapping around two or three of the like 45 cash registers that they actually have, but the staff is too busy, oh I don’t know popping their pimplies in the bathroom or something.

5) The staff that consists of the over 40 age bracket are just a bunch of @ssholes that apparently think it’s my fault they work there.

These are just a few reasons why I think Best Buy sucks, but I googled the terms, “Best Buy Sucks,” and “I Hate Best Buy,” and apparently I’m not alone. Here are a few sites dedicated to the suckery of one of the worst stores on the planet:

So, I repeat, never, ever, under any circumstance, EVER, purchase anything from Best Buy…unless you have a gift card.
